We will be surrounded by glaciers and an unspoiled nature, in an incredible environment, known by many in the industry.
This week of cycling, accessible to all participants, thanks to the constant presence of the minibus and the technical guide of our companions, will be challenging but also very rewarding.
Bormio, a renowned and enchanting ski resort, known for hosting the Ski World Cup and home to the famous Spa, will welcome us for a week in the heart of the Alps on the roads of the Giro d'Italia. In addition, the delicious Valtellina cuisine awaits us every evening: a well-deserved reward for our demanding road bike efforts.

DAY 1
Welcome from the staff and bike tour presentation.

DAY 2- PASSO GAVIA
Bormio - Gavia Pass 2621 m - Mortirolo Pass - Bormio 108 km, 3180 m difference in height.
Starting from Bormio, the first stage of our tour will be the least demanding of the week.
We will tackle one of the highest passes in Europe, the Gavia, one of the epic climbs of the Giro d'Italia that contains the memories of unforgettable and exciting images of some editions of the Giro d'Italia.
Starting from Bormio you can reach Santa Caterina di Valfurva along a wide road with steep slopes.
A splendid ride with magnificent landscapes with challenging stretches of road, with an average gradient of 5.4% and a maximum of 15%. At the top, once the effort is over, you will wear the protective clothing provided by our minibus staff. From here we carefully face the descent to enter the province of Brescia, in Ponte di Legno, a renowned ski resort, in the splendid Val Camonica.
Val Camonica is known for the rock carvings that in 1979 led the area to become the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Italy. On the same day, equal recognition was given to the gardens of Versailles and the Pyramids of Egypt.
Going down to the valley you reach Monno, a crossroads for Val Camoica and Valtellina.
Here begins a new extraordinary climb: the Mortirolo Pass.
The side of this epic pass is easier from the Valtellina area and from its top a quick descent takes us to Bormio
Our first day ends here, we load our road bikes on the minibus, and return to Bormio to enjoy an evening in good company, with excellent local food and wine.

DAY 3 - PASSO BERNINA
Tirano - Bernina Pass 2328 m - Forcola Pass 2315 m-Livigno - Foscagno Pass 2291-Bormio 101 km, 2878 m elevation gain.
After breakfast, transfer to Tirano where the climb is immediately challenging, to reach Lake Poschiavo in Val Poschiavo on whose banks the hamlets of Le Prese and Miralago rise.
Here we catch our breath for a moment before getting back on our bikes to continue the climb, with shortness of breath, but also with the constant presence of the minibus at our side, to reassure us and provide us with any necessary assistance.
Certainly the altitude difference is challenging, with an average gradient of 5.5% and a maximum of 12% but the breathtaking landscapes and the fabulous sceneries of the Bernina glaciers will give us the strength to conquer the Pass with our road bikes.
The Bernina pass is a Swiss pass that connects the Valtellina and the Upper Engadine.
Another spectacular view towards the alpine peaks Pizzo Bernina (4049 m) Pizzo Pal (3906 m) and the Morteratsch (3751 m) with the imposing glacier.
After this spectacular pass we head towards Little Tibet, or Livigno, a very famous ski resort.
The last effort takes us to the Foscagno Pass where the descent towards Bormio begins.
As a reward we can expect a hearty and excellent dinner, as always based on Valtellina products: pizzoccheri, sciatt (even if the name, in Valtellina dialect, means "toads", do not be fooled: they are exquisite savory croquettes with melted cheese in the center of polenta taragna (made from corn and buckwheat flour) and bresaola (Bresaola is an Italian cured meat, made of salted and dried beef, typical of Valtellina), all washed down with local wines.

DAY 4 - REST DAY
Lake Como-Madonna del Ghisallo 85km- 600m difference in altitude
Just like professional cyclists during big races, our cycling team also needs a more relaxing day to recover their energy. Immediately after breakfast, with the bikes of the minibus, we head towards the lower Valtellina.
Today's race is an easy, completely flat journey that takes us towards the lower Valtellina. Today will be a more relaxing day to recharge your batteries.
Enjoying the incomparable beauty of Lake Como, we will arrive in Varenna and then reach Bellagio by boat.
In Bellagio begins our climb towards the famous Madonna del Ghisallo, patroness of the cyclist.
Then we return to Bellagio where the ferry awaits us for our transfer to Menaggio located on the western shore of Lake Como at the entrance to the homonymous valley.
From there, cycling on the east banks, we will end the day.

DAY 5 - MORTIROLO PASS
Mazzo di Valtellina-Passo Mortirolo (1850m) Aprica-Tirano- Bormio 101Km 2050m difference in altitude
Thanks to the pleasant and relaxing previous day which allowed us to save energy, after breakfast, we take the minibus to Mazzo, today's starting point. The climb par excellence is that of the Valtellina side, which extends for 12.5 km, with a difference in height of almost 1300 m and a steep but constant slope (average 10%; maximum 18%).
Today's climb became famous when in 1990 it was included in the Giro d'Italia route and is certainly one of the most popular but also the hardest climbs in Europe.
It is here that, in 1994, the great Marco Pantani freed himself by winning the stage and in 2006, in memory of the epic exploits of the Pirate, a monument was placed in his honor at Km 8 on the Valtellina side.
The hardest, most important and exciting battles of the Giro d'Italia are fought on the Passo del Mortiolo.
We too will have the opportunity to try our hand at this climb.
The minibus will always be at our disposal in case of need.
You return for a different route, through Trivigno, to reach the Aprica Pass. Well deserved after so much effort, a succulent dinner awaits us, as always based on the best local products.

DAY 6 - STELVIO PASS LOOP
Stelvio Pass 2758m Umbrail Pass 2501m -105 km, 3100m difference in altitude
Immediately after a rich breakfast we will tackle the last of our epic climbs, from Bormio to the Stelvio Pass: an average gradient of 7% with peaks of 15%.
The Stelvio Pass is the highest Italian pass, open to motor vehicles, and connects the Valtellina with the Val Venosta in the province of Bolzano. The series of hairpin bends that, together with breathtaking nature, have written the history of this famous climb is impressive. The grandeur and majesty of the Ortles, maximum height 3,905, and its enormous glaciers, will be the incomparable sight that will reward us for the efforts made.
After taking warm clothes from our minibus we head downhill towards Prato dello Stelvio to the fortified village of Glorenza, a few kilometers from the Swiss border.
After crossing the Swiss border, another epic climb awaits us: the Umbrail Pass (2,503 m a.s.l.) the highest pass in Switzerland.
From the top of this pass we return to Bormio for our dinner to end an unforgettable week.
