SKI TOURING-SKI MOUNTAINEERING IN THE DOLOMITES winter activities

Ski touring and Ski mountaineering is skiing in the backcountry on unmarked or unpatrolled areas. This is typically done off-piste and outside of ski resorts, and may extend over a period of more than one day.

When the first snow covers slopes and valley, the Dolomite alpine peaks begin to be frequented by lovers of ski mountaineering who find infinite possibilities for excursions from late November to late spring. These itineraries also develop on forest roads and ancient mule tracks and which allow you to fully experience the nature of the place, in absolute silence, reaching fantastic peaks.

They can be undertaken, with the necessary precautions and the right equipment, from the easiest to the most demanding ones.

Just to give some ideas we mention among the most demanded spots such as the Val di Fiemme with the crossing of the Latemar, the trip to Castel delle Aie or on Monte Croce, then in Val Rendena in the Brenta Group and in the Presanella one, on in Val di Fassa to the Catinaccio with arrival in Val Ciamìn di Tìres, or in Val Duron, at the Passo San Pellegrino, in Val Gardena on the Forcella del Sasso Lungo, at the Punte del Puez or the Forcella di Mezzodi, in Val Badia, Valparola or Armentarola.

Today, thanks to the opening of the lifts a few hours earlier, a new experience can be offered allowing you to discover a new and special way to start the day in the Dolomites.

From December down to March mountain and ski enthusiasts can experience the new day, between fresh snow and intense slopes and observe the enchantment of the sunrise in the mountains from a privileged point of view and soon afterwords a good breakfast in some good alpine hut.
