CHOCOLATE OF MODICA
It is thought that it was the Spaniards in the 16th century, during their domination, who introduced this particular chocolate processing in the County of Modica, although the recipe was devised by the people of the Aztecs. For this extraordinary people of Ancient Mexico, cocoa played a very important role: it was in fact considered a nutritious food symbol of excellent social position, it was also considered a vehicle for communicating with the gods.
