THE CARABINIERI

Arm of Carabineers ; previously Corpo dei Carabinieri Reali, Royal Carabineers Corps ) are the national gendarmerie of Italy who primarily carry out domestic policing duties. The institution was founded on 13 July 1814 in the Kingdom of Sardinia. After the unification of Italy it became part of the Italian armed forces first of the Kingdom of Italy and then of the Italian Republic. From the gendarmes of Pinocchio, the story of a puppet is a children's novel written by Carlo Collodi, to the heroes of Italian television, the carabinieri have always occupied a privileged place in the imagination and consideration of Italians as well as being internationally recognized. Today the Arm of Carabineers or simlply Arma is a military and police force at the forefront of methods and technologies and this has made it one of the most appreciated Italian companies in the world.
